Children Learning Reading Review: My Toddler Can Read! And He’s Only 2 Year Old!

We know how important it is for your children to develop reading skills. You want to do what is best for your child by finding a reading program that will help them become fluent readers. Some programs are unproven and cost hundreds of dollars upfront or they want you to subscribe and pay a monthly fee. If these programs all did what they say they were going to do, then it wouldn’t be so bad. However, there is no guarantee that these programs will give your child the ability to read.

An innovative program came up on a web search called Children Learning Reading that shows a step-by-step process where children really learn how to read. A great aspect of the program is that is does work and you can start your child with it as soon as they are able to speak. No matter who you are, you will and should have doubts about any reading program that claims it can get your child reading at any age fluently within a couple of months. Yet, when you see the video results from actual children between 2 and 3 years of age, who used the program, there is no doubt that these techniques really work.

The program is the brainchild of Jim and Elena after being concerned that their oldest daughter would start school not on pace with her class. They developed the Children Learning Reading program to teach their children how to read before they turned the age of three. The actual clips show their daughter whom was about 2 ½ years old starting to read fluently within weeks of starting. The video can be seen below, it is truly amazing that a child could be reading at such as young age and that really any child could be taught the same process and have the same results.

Is The Program Suitable for Your Children?

The design of the Children Learning Reading program was created for your young child between the ages of two and six years old. It teaches small children and toddlers to read fluently. Unfortunately, if you son or daughter is not speaking yet you will want to wait on starting the program until they can.

One of the main objectives of the Children Learning Reading program is to give children the tools to decode text fast and read text with fluency by using the concept of phonemic awareness.

Several studies consistently show that children who are deficient with phonemic awareness skills are set up to become poor readers and do not perform as well in school.  Jim & Elena’s program Children Learning Reading is straight- forward, simple and completed step by step. The program develops your child’s phonemic awareness skill set through easy to implement exercise and practice techniques. Note this is not rote memorization program; it does make the necessary connections to make learning meaningful. The National Reading Panel endorses using phonemic awareness as the most effective technique for teaching children how to read.

So How the Program Works?

reading programs for kidThe Children Learning Reading Program design is made up in two stages. Both have step-by-step lessons and have their own instruction book. The first stage is used for developing foundation skills that is very important building block for the fluent reader. The second stage builds on the stage one lessons and is targeted to building the advanced phonemic awareness skills. You will start the 28 lessons in the first stage begin with alphabet sounds and letters being introduced in natural and logical sequence. It initially begins with very simple words and with blending exercises embedded in the lessons and gets progressively more involved as they advance on. Once stage one is completed you will be amazed at how well they have progressed with their reading fluency.

Reading Programs for KidsThe second stage does involve a little more teaching on your part when more complicated concepts are being presented. You should be reviewing all of the lessons and get a good idea how to present them to make sure you are communicating the information clearly and concisely. Stage two has 22 lessons building off the skill set developed in stage one. You will teach your child different letter combinations or digraphs. Obviously these lessons are more advanced words, sentences, rhymes and stories that will advance your children’s fluency skills immensely.

Another great point about this program is that it does not require any rote memorization of phonic rules as these can easily confuse your child and may lead to the concept of learning not being fun. Jim & Elena’s Children Learning Reading program focuses on learning the skills not memorizing them. You children learn reading and develop decoding skills. This makes for an effective reading program with small children.

Still another advantage of the program is the step-by-step lessons that are fast and efficient. Lessons range between five and ten minutes by some take as little as two to three minutes to complete. This is why small children with a short attention span can do well with this program.

So basically the program guarantees to teach help you teach your child how to read with short effective lessons (5-10 minutes) each day to provide consistent implementation of the program. In as little as 12 twelve weeks the program will be completed and your child will learn one of the most important skills of their early life- reading.

To teach your child to read, just follow the lessons and spend the required time set aside for each lesson to consistently teach your child reading. In the course of three months, you will be so glad that you have taken the time and put forth the effort to give your child the most important skill in life – reading.
